Following my passion for STEM pipeline development

I completed my PhD in the summer of 2012; my thesis was supervised by Joann Sweasy in Departments of Genetics and Therapeutic Radiology at Yale University, where I studied genetic variation in DNA repair genes and the consequences of aberrant DNA repair on cancer risk and drug response. After a 2 year stint as Postdoctoral Associate in the lab of Wen Shen in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, I realized that I found mentoring scientists and considering the overall structure of the scientific pipeline really exciting. I then took a role as the STEM Career Advisor for undergraduates in St. John's College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at St. John's University.

In Summer 2017, I moved to New York University, where I was initially the Associate Director, Prehealth and am now Assistant Dean, Preprofessional Advising.

My thoughts on science can be found at The Scientific Sheep.

My personal blog focuses on my love of the fiber arts at The Knitting Lamb.
